Your first sessions will involve an initial assessment gathering information to help me learn more about you, your current support, and your experiences. This will also include questions that screen for self-harm and risk of suicide to ensure that we can create a safety plan together if required. Additionally, all sessions are booked and paid for in advance by you, so there’s no pressure to book there and then during our first conversation together. You can book your free initial consultation to find out more by using the booking calendar here. Alternatively, I offer block booking discounts in my website shop here.
I want to go deep into the core of my relationships with others and how that affects me…
If you are experiencing difficulties with relationships that is causing challenges such as anxiety, stress, and depression, then this could be the right therapy for you.
This therapy aims to support you to understand the way you behave with other people and why these behaviour patterns may have begun. Our talking together aims to support you to be more aware of your unhelpful behaviour patterns so that you can explore and be curious about trying new ways of interacting with other people.
We may explore your upbringing and any cultural differences, why you push other people away, and talk in-depth about the times when behaving this way was useful to you. We will then work towards identifying the changes you want to make using self-compassion and acceptance.
Creative therapy is often helpful for people who find it difficult to talk. By introducing objects into the therapeutic conversation, it can help you to learn more about yourself and your interactions with others.
Relational therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on understanding more about how you relate to other people and yourself. Whether that be romantic partners, family, friends, colleagues, people who are culturally different from you, or any situation when you may find yourself uncomfortable when socialising.
Creative relational therapy can help you gain a deeper understanding of why you might find yourself using unhelpful behaviours when interacting with other people. If you find you are becoming anxious, stressed, or depressed when conversing with others, this may be a useful therapy for you.
16-24 sessions, weekly or fortnightly. This can vary depending on the complexity of the challenges you are experiencing. Brief therapy is often used as a term for therapy delivered in under 24 sessions.
During our first sessions together, I will gather information about you and what led you to seek therapy. This will include your history and anything else you feel is important for me to know before we begin our therapy. Sometimes this can take several sessions to complete.
In creative relational therapy we will use objects from within the therapy room that can represent different people in your life and the relationships you have with them. We might also occasionally use small, meaningful objects that you might bring into sessions with you.
Using objects as representations of feelings and people can help us gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our behaviour and support our therapeutic work together.
Our therapeutic relationship in sessions is also an important part of this type of psychotherapy.
